december snow

Merry Christmas (I can say that for three more days, after all) and Happy New Year! B and I took these pictures on New Year’s Eve morning, right as the last snowstorm of 2007 was winding down; more snow and very cold temperatures arrived on New Year’s Day. A real one-two punch!

  1. *beautiful* pictures that remind me how much I miss the magic of snow! longing for that blanket of quiet and the glow in the night sky. almost enough to get me thinking about leaving the warmth of California to enjoy an upstate winter... remind me of this when the slush comes.

  2. This snowfall and the one that followed it on New Year's Day were particularly beautiful, that's for sure. If you ever want to enjoy an upstate winter, you are MORE than welcome to spend it in beautiful Washington County! What more can I do to entice you, Todd? Promises of sledding? Hot chocolate in front of a warm fire after? Snowshoeing through the woods behind the house?
Actually, the snow is pretty much gone for the time being, as we've had very warm temperatures this week. An early January thaw . . .

    Just stop it!

Snowshoeing through the woods behind the house?

Enough! Next you'll be talking jingle bells and hitching the sleigh up to old Dobbin. You are indeed evil, using these Currier & Ives moments to entice me. I'll have to stick with sun, surf and sand for the moment.
